Hop Wilson
President
Hop is from Newark, Ohio, and graduated from Miami University in 1977 with a degree in Finance. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for leadership, integrity and dedication to clients, while always keeping faith and family at the forefront of his life. Hop is married to his college sweetheart, Paulette, and together they have four children and twelve grandchildren.
Matt Wilson
Vice President
Matt grew up in Cincinnati and went to St. Xavier High School. He graduated from Ohio State in 2015 from the Fisher College of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. At Ohio State, Matt was a member of the Sigma Chi National Fraternity. Matt and his wife, Megan, are proud new parents to a baby girl. In his free time, Matt loves to golf, play pickleball and beat everyone in ping pong.
Tony Bort
Insurance Broker
Tony is a Cincinnati native who grew up in the Mason area. He went to Ohio State for 2 years before graduating from Franciscan University in 2016. He is an avid fan of the Buckeyes, Bengals, FC Cincinnati, pickleball and Italian food. Fun fact: Tony has 5 siblings, 17 nieces and nephews, and is cousins with the Wilson family.

Joan Sweeney
Sr. Account Manager
Joan is from the east side of Cincinnati and graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Joan is married to her husband Brian and together they have a daughter, Bree. Outside of work, Joan enjoys spending time with her family and is known for her love of baking.
Fun fact: Joan has a hidden talent of riding unicycles.
Tim James
Sr. Account Manager
Tim grew up in Cincinnati and went to Madeira High School where he played baseball and football. Tim played strong safety at Wittenberg University for 2 years before graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Talent Development. In his free time, Tim loves to golf, play softball and go to UC sporting events.
Mitch McKenzie
Account Manager
Mitch grew up in Detroit before moving to Cincinnati, where he attended Moeller High School and played quarterback on the football team. He went to Mercyhurst University on a football scholarship to study Business Management before finishing his degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of Cincinnati in 2023. In his free time, Mitch enjoys golfing and traveling to new places with friends and family.
Our History
Hop started Wilson Insurance over 40 years ago by knocking on doors and cold calling resident doctors around Cincinnati. Those young physicians became his first clients. Now, Wilson Insurance provides insurance to thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and beyond. Our reputation for providing comprehensive consultations and service is well established across the Tristate.
